Delegated authority software that enforces the authority inside the document
Binders and schemes run on trust and on paperwork. PolicyBridge turns each delegated-authority product into connected client, broker and underwriter forms that know the authority they were issued under, and prove what was done.
The problem with delegated authority today
Under a binding authority the insurer sets the rules: which risks may be written, up to what limits, by whom, and what must be referred. In practice those rules live in a PDF, an underwriting guide and people's memory. The coverholder keys each risk into its own systems, then re-enters every risk into a monthly bordereau so the carrier can see what was written. Breaches are found late, if at all, and audits mean reconstructing what happened.
How PolicyBridge handles it
- The authority travels with the document. Limits, licence dates and referral triggers are part of the form itself, so a quote outside authority is referred before it can be bound.
- Every underwriter works as themselves. Each person has an authority level set by the insurer, and every quote, referral decision and bind is traceable to the person who made it.
- Altered figures show. Answers, prices and decisions are tamper-evident.
- The insurer stays in control. Levels are raised, reduced or revoked by the insurer, and the yearly licence lets the insurer add or change underwriters.
- Bordereaux come from the record. Written and paid bordereaux, including Lloyd's and carrier-specific layouts, are produced from the policies already bound.
Built for the London and UK specialty market
PolicyBridge is built in the UK for MGAs, coverholders, Lloyd's and company-market insurers, and the brokers who place with them, starting with specialty commercial lines: commercial combined, professional indemnity, media and entertainment, music and events, and airside risks. The forms run in an ordinary browser, offline if needed, and no client data leaves the business. The approach is patent pending in the UK.

What is PolicyBridge?
PolicyBridge is the operating system for delegated-authority insurance. It takes one definition of an insurance product and compiles everything the business needs from it: the client's proposal form, the broker and underwriter desks, the rater, the quote, the schedule and wording, the policy documents, the bordereau and the management information. Because every piece comes from the same definition, nothing is rekeyed and nothing contradicts anything else.
How does PolicyBridge enforce delegated authority?
Each underwriter works under an authority level and limits set by the insurer. Every quote, referral and bind is held to that authority, a risk outside it is referred before it can be bound, and every action is traceable to the person who took it. PolicyBridge's approach is patent pending in the UK.
Does PolicyBridge use AI to price risks?
No. Prices come from the insurer's own rating book, so the same answers always give the same premium. AI is used to help turn existing documents into a product definition, never to set a price.
Can PolicyBridge produce bordereaux and management information?
Yes. Because every quote and bind is already a structured record, the risk and premium bordereaux and the MI for each broker, product and binder are produced from the records themselves, including Lloyd's and carrier-specific layouts, instead of being rebuilt in a spreadsheet at month end.
